Lesson 1
Optimizing Solar PV ROI
Presenters:
Mark Gies, Director of Strategy and Market Development, S-5!
Greg Cowlishaw, Senior Director of Sales, S-5!
Description:
There are many reasons to install solar, and increasingly, one significant reason is to generate income. With the cost of solar at an all-time low and an increase in federal, state and local financial incentives, solar pays for itself faster than ever. This leads to substantial savings over time. Solar is indeed a lucrative investment, so it is important to understand how the rewards are measured and how product and installation decisions impact those rewards. For rooftop solar PV, the roof type and mounting system significantly influence lifetime costs and savings. In fact, it is best to view solar and the roof as a single asset.
In this episode of S-5!'s video series, Patrick, Greg and Mark will discuss how to understand the financial aspects of a solar investment and measure savings. They will explore the impact of different mounting structures and roof types on savings, as well as the potential negative effect on cash flow when certain roof types require reroofing.
